Association Meetings

SRSOA meets the third Tuesday of every month.

When: February 21, 2012; 8:00 PM

Where: IF Parks & Rec Activity Center  (1575 N. Skyline, west side of Skyline just before you get to the airport)

Topic: TBD.

IMPORTANT: Those of you who have completed the USSF recertification process need to come to the SRSOA meeting to get your 2012 patch and USSF Laws of the Game book.  The will not be mailed or delivered to you.

It is critical that you attend as many of the SRSOA meetings as you can. Even the most experienced refs learn something from every meeting.

Might want to check out the latest Week in Review from the referee page at US Soccer.  This is a site we should all access weekly to see how the Laws of the Game are properly and, sometimes, improperly applied.

Note

The web master for the SRSOA site is Rick Spielman.  If you have information that should be posted to this site, please send it to him at rspielman@ida.net.  Alternatively, you may call him at 528-6052.

Mark Oliver is planning on conducting clinics in Rexburg and Idaho Falls, but the dates, times, and locations are not yet set.

Special Referee Clinic Opportunity

Dan Heldman, the current chair of the USSF National Instructional Advisory Panel, is coming to Boise to present three referee clinics.  This is an outstanding opportunity to be taught by one of the best in the nation.  There will be an evening clinic on Friday, February 17 geared towards assessors and instructors, a full day clinic on Saturday, February 18 on general refereeing, and a morning clinic on Sunday with game scenarios for discussion and debate.  The cost for the entire clinic is only $35 for adults, $25 for those under 21, or a flat $45 fee for a referee family.  Click on this link for the clinic brochure.  If you are interested in going, contact me (Rick Spielman) and I will see if we can arrange car pools.

USSF Recertification

You have probably all been wondering what happened to the recertification clinics we usually hold during November.  Well, the short answer is we didn't have them.  Why?  Because USSF has gone to a totally on-line recertification process.  Not only will you register for 2012 on-line as you have done the past couple years, but you will also take the examination.  No clinics will be held anywhere in the state.  Click on this link to download a copy of the instructions for completing your registration and recertification for 2012.
